Lake Weeroona in Bendigo was first opened to the public in1869 at a cost of 5000 pounds. The forty five acre reserve was planted with native Australian and English trees and the lake was built within the plantings. There is a boat house at one end of the lake, toilets and a boat shed.
Lake Weeroona is centrally located and a great place for a picnic, rest, walking or making use of the fitness track. The lake is a park of an 18 hectare parkland reserve and also provides BBQ's, children's play equipment and and an undercover picnic pavilion. Restaurant and Children's playground at Lake Weeroona |
