Star Cinema

Bendigo Victoria

The Star Cinema was established in 1999. It operates in the Eaglehawk Town Hall about which is an eight minute drive from the Bendigo fountain. 

The Star Community Cinema operates in the grand setting of the Eaglehawk Town Hall just outside of Bendigo in Central Victoria. It has been operating as a non-profit community owned project since April 2005 and is largely run by volunteers.

It has a proud policy of providing Greater Bendigo with independent, arthouse films and crossover cinema releases in a unique environment.

A wonderful aspect of the Star Community Cinema is that it operates out of the Eaglehawk Town Hall, still utilising the original projection room that was functioning in the first half of last century. A grand sense of history, enhanced by comfy crimson couches and a licensed bar serving up local wines and snacks, means that the Star Cinema represents a special place for many people, local and beyond. Equally important is our film policy that ensures those who live locally have regular access to a number of films that they would otherwise miss experiencing on the big screen unless they traveled to a larger city.

The Committee of Management, sub-committees and box office administrators all operate on a volunteer basis. They offer their time out of a passion to see the Star Cinema continue to provide Greater Bendigo with a unique cinema experience.
