Choi Loong

Bendigo Chinese Dragon

Choi Loong was crafted in the Chinese region of Fatt Shan, the same region as the now retired Loong Dragon was made, in 2006 and arrived in Bendigo in January 2007. Choi Loong means 'colourful and competitive' and is believed to bring luck and prosperity to Bendigo.

Unlike the other Bendigo dragons which are either male or female and can only carried by either men or women, Choi Loong is androgynous and can be carried by men and women together. Choi Loong is also a night dragon and glows under a black light. Choi Loong is sure to a highlight during the Bendigo Easter Festival Torch Light procession.
