Nuggetty Vineyard is nestled into the base of the Nuggetty Ranges about four kilometres north-west of the historic gold-mining township of Maldon, in the Central Victorian Goldfields. The vineyard was first established in 1994, and is family owned and operated by Greg and Jackie Dedman. Greg studied for his wine-making degree at Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga, he is also now the Chief Winemaker at Blue Pyrenees Estate in the nearby Pyrenees wine region. Jackie served her apprenticeship as trainee Winemaker at Bowen Estate in Coonawarra from March 1997 to August 1998, and is currently finishing her degree in wine-making at Charles Sturt University and wine marketing at Roseworthy, University of Adelaide. At Nuggetty, Greg & Jackie share the Winery and vineyard tasks and are constantly evaluating all their techniques to ensure they produce top quality wines; for example, all wines are matured in finest quality French, Russian and American oak barriques; however they both firmly believe that, '...only if you get it right in the vineyard and grow premium quality fruit, can you make premium quality wines.'
